Maybe I should tell you about a funny thing happened 20 years ago.
I manufactured Automatic Telephone Solicitation machines. Everyone hated those. Insurance agents bought them from me and did well with them. Some accidentally left it on all night and it woke up the city. I sold them on the Final Sale bases. No refunds. Customers blamed me of course.
Soon, owners become tired of them and made up different excuses to obtain refunds.
I was served with legal papers from the Postal Inspector Service. I was totally honest, never advertised anything that was not 100% true.
My public defender and I kept the case open for 5 years. The legal filings were piled up 7 feet high. They had 8 lawyers and 3 Judges working against me by mailing legal filings. Four lawyers were on my case full time.
They spent over a million fighting me. They had no time to go after real criminals such as big time drug dealers doing a fabulous business. They were too busy with my case. It was much safer for them to chase me from a plush office then chase some drug dealer with a gun.
Finally I wrote to the Postal Inspector General and explained all that. He cut their budget and they gave up bothering me. About 20 years later the Internet is still full of their legal postings trying to justify losing a million on a penniless old man.
I was broke then and I am even more broke now.
